Flex Presents Virtual Reality Vapor Chamber at CES 2018

Experience a cylindrical enclosure systems in virtual reality at CES 2018

Virtual Reality Vapor Chamber at CES 2018Flex showcased a virtual reality vapor chamber exhibit in the Venetian Ballroom at CES 2018 (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas.

The Sketch-to-Scale™ solutions provider teamed up with Vapor IO to present a data center room filled with racks and a cylindrical enclosure system for IT equipment.

They leveraged Powertrak 3D Product Configurator and VR Configurator to custom design the data center layout and extend it to virtual reality.

Using the HTC Vive headset and hand controller, CES attendees immersed themselves into the virtual environment to see, explore, and experience the differences of a vapor chamber versus a traditional data center design.

According to Vapor IO, its vapor chamber manages heat/cooling more effectively and efficiently.

It positions six IT racks in a circular pattern. A fan pulls air from the surrounding room and passes it through the racks to cool the equipment. The hot air is expelled out of the top of the chamber and routed to the HVAC.

CES is the premier gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It showcases more than 3,900 exhibiting companies, including manufacturers, developers, and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems and more. CES has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years. The show runs from January 9-12, 2018.
