Mashing up data in Microsoft Dynamics CRM using Powertrak

The Dos and Don’ts for Mashing Up Data

Many organizations have multiple back-end systems that utilize different interfaces. Using Microsoft Dynamics CRM out-of-the-box, the only way to see data from other systems is to either open the interface for the other systems or synchronize the data into the CRM system.

Avoid Unnecessary Synchronization of Data
Integration and synchronization projects that are not out-of-the-box can be costly in both the services and required tools. On the flip-side, the Powertrak platform provides a flexible, more robust method for handling interaction with data from other systems. As a result, customers have much more functionality at their fingertips and don’t have to rewrite code for each syncing system.

*Core sets of data such as customers, products, orders and invoices should always be synchronized.

Interaction with Data from Other Systems
The Powertrak platform provides a Data Adapter plug-in handler. The plug-in’s support creates, reads, updates, and deletes for the Powertrak screens. These screens are configured using the Powertrak Application Builder, a toolset that builds filterable, editable and hierarchical list screens, user input screens (aka forms), and find screens for lookup controls, plus much more functionality.

Powertrak (out-of-the-box) has Data Adapter plug-ins for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SalesForce, OLE/ODBC databases, and the ability to create additional plug-ins.
