A short while ago, Axonom (we) announced that our Powertrak Product Configurator and Partner Portal sales rocketed 350% in Q1 2013, leading to our best financial quarter in company history. The 2013 first quarter sales were driven by strong demand for cloud-based Powertrak Product Configurator and Partner Portal solutions.

Recently, I had an issue where a customer logged in to Microsoft Dynamics CRM and could not see anything AT ALL. All links to accounts, contacts, calendars, and every other record type was missing. Third-party add-ons, such as Powertrak still appeared, but no native CRM entities were available.

In July 2012, Gartner released its Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation (SFA). Let’s take a look at Gartner’s results on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and its biggest competitor, Salesforce.com. Both are considered industry leaders but which company has the best “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute?”

Many organizations have multiple back-end systems that utilize different interfaces. Using Microsoft Dynamics CRM out-of-the-box, the only way to see data from other systems is to either open the interface for the other systems or synchronize the data into the CRM system.
