If you’ve kept up with the news lately, several configure-price-quote (CPQ) products with ties to Salesforce.com had recently been acquired by Oracle, Infor, and now (soon-to-be) PROS.
It’s too early to speculate whether these CPQ software will continue its integration into Salesforce long term, mainly due to the affiliation of the companies acquiring said product.
My guess is that there will be a lot of movement in the CRM market as Infor and Oracle will most likely offer enticing incentives to move its newly acquired CPQ customers off of Salesforce and onto its own CRM platform. But like I had said earlier, it’s way too early to speculate.
But all is not lost for SFDC customers requiring CPQ functionality. No, there’s still a number great configurator products that continue to integrate into its CRM platform.
